This is, of course, Lyzette – the gal who writes all her opinions about all the movies she watches, of which you probably just skim through.
I’m making this post really quick to basically update what’s going on in my life. I already hold a full load of classes (and will be graduating in May!), as well as a part-time job that doesn’t pay much, and an internship that doesn’t pay at all. Because of this lack of sufficient funding, I have been quickly running out of money and basically forced to go looking for a second job.
The other day I got an email from a place that wants me to meet up to discuss a part-time position. So I may be holding two part-time jobs and making more money!! However, it goes without saying that I’ll start being even more busy than before – I’m wondering if I’ll even be able to get enough sleep amongst all this. On top of this, midterms are coming up really quickly… which is scary. I’ve got sooo much studying and sooo much writing on my plate for basically an indefinite amount of time. If I don’t die of a caffeine overdose, I’ll be very lucky.
What am I getting at with all this? Essentially, I’m probably going to have to slow down with my writing on this blog, at least for the time being. For now, I’ll probably just stop doing weekly recaps altogether – it’s a really nice way to get all my thoughts down in one humungous post. But the thing is… my posts are usually humungous. I can’t just write a few hundred words and be totally fine with it. I have a tendency to want to write way more than a few sentences and right now, I just don’t possess a realistic amount of time for this.
Nonetheless, I’ll still probably be doing my monthly recaps. If you wanna keep an eye out for what I watch/rate, you can check out my Letterboxd. I’ll still be watching multiple films a week, but will only be writing about the notable ones in my monthly recap. Perhaps I’ll even start making these recaps longer than before, to compensate! Or perhaps I’ll think of some different and fun things to do with my blog, since frankly it isn’t very interesting right now.
Anyway, I’m starting to write more than necessary again, so I’ll end it here. Happy trails, folks; don’t miss my weekly recaps too much!
P.S. I’ll end this note here with a compilation of some of the best parts of one of the more entertaining films I’ve seen recently. Enjoy!
Just found your blog from twitter, don’t know why it’s taken me so long because it’s great. I’m glad to see someone writes posts that are similar in length to mine haha
While you’re on hiatus I’ll just have to go back and read some of your old stuff. Your History of Animation class sounds really interesting!
thanks! it’s definitely one of the more interesting classes I’ve taken in my entire college career. we’ve been covering mostly American stuff, but later we’ll be looking at much more international animation, such as Russian propaganda, Canadian films from NFR, etc.
maybe soon I’ll make a huge blog post about what I learned in that class! haha. I’m still going to do my monthly recaps, btw, so there will still be stuff to look forward to from me around the beginnings of each month.
thanks for expressing interest in my writing! it really, really means a lot.
